Benjamin Acosta-Hughes, Professor of Greek

Ben Acosta-Hughes is a professor of Greek at Ohio State University as well as at Uniroma3 (the University of Rome Three). He attended Philips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire before completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in 1987. He went on to complete his Ph.D. at the University of California at Berkeley. He has written multiple publications, which include: Polyeideia-The Iambi of Callimachus and the Archaic Iambic Tradition; Arion’s Lyre – Archaic Lyric in Hellenistic Poetry (forthcoming Princeton 2009), Callimachus in Context (co-authored with Susan Stephens) and is co-editor of the forthcoming Brill Companion to Callimachus. Acosta-Hughes is passionate about bringing education to urban minority youth, and diversifying the student body of the Ancient World.
